Ingredients
- 2 tsp Active dry yeast
- 2 3/4 cups Flour
- 1 tsp Sugar
- 1 tsp Salt
- 3 tbsp Olive Oil
- 1 cup Water
Instructions
- Put Flour, yeast, salt and sugar in a stand mixer or medium mixing bowl.
- Add the olive oild and water, mix until a dough is formed. No need for kneading. It should be a little bit sticky, feel free to add flour if needed.
- Cover the dough and let it rest for 1 hours or until doubled in size. Do not punch the dough down.
- Preheat the oven and a pizza stone or baking sheet to 240C - 260C. Depending how high your oven can go.
- Devide the dough into eight pieces and cover for 15 minute to rise.
- Use one dough ball at a time. Use your fingers or rolling pin to shape the dough into a disk and dont let the air out. the disk shouldnt be thicker than 1/2cm.
- Place the rolled piece of dough on the hot pizza stone/ baking sheet and close the oven. Let it bake for 2-3 minutes, it should puff up.
- Flip the bread over and bake for another 2-3 minutes.
- Continue baking the remaining pita breads.
