This is a quick and easy bread, no need for strenuous kneading.

No Knead Bread

Yield: 1 artisan loaf
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Resting: 2 hours
Baking: 30 minutes
Total Time: 2 hours 35 minutes

Ingredients

  • 3 Cups Flour
  • 1,5 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp yeast
  • 1.5 Cups Lukewarm water

Instructions

  1. In a bowl mix the water and yeast with a whisk. then add the flour and salt.
  2. Mix the ingredients with your hands or wooden spoon until all the flour is mixed in.
  3. Cover the bowl with clingwrap and let it rise for at least an hour, until double in size. It all depends on the room temperature. Dont let it rest directly in the sun, this will kill the yeast.
  4. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and shape in your desired loaf shape. Try and not to handle the dough for too long, otherwise the second rise will take longer.
  5. Put your dough into a baking pan, baking sheet or any ovendish that you have. Making sure it has been greased and floured to prevent sticking.
  6. Pre-heat the oven on 200 C.
  7. Let it rest again, covered for 30-60 minutes.
  8. Bake for 30-40minutes until golden brown. Flip the bread out onto a kitchen towel, knock the bottom crust. If it sound hollow then it cooked through.
  9. Cool on a cooling rack for at least 30min before cutting.
